1.7 million Australians have diabetes and half don’t know it (they have undiagnosed type 2 diabetes)

An estimated 275 Australians develop diabetes every day

An estimated two million Australians have pre-diabetes and are at risk of developing type 2 diabetes

Type 2 diabetes continues to be the fastest growing chronic disease in Australia

The cost of diabetes to the Australian healthcare system is estimated at least $3 billion

Diabetes is the sixth leading cause of death in Australia

Complications of diabetes include: - heart attacks and strokes: up to four times more likely in people with diabetes - blindness: retinopathy affects one in six people with diabetes - kidney damage: three times more common in people with diabetes - amputations: 15 times more common in people with diabetes Obesity information for adults and children

It is estimated that almost 60 per cent of the adult population in Australia over 25 years of age (67.5 per cent of men and 52.1 per cent of women) is overweight or obese the prevalence of obesity in Australia has more than doubled in the past twenty years The International Obesity Task Force estimates that based on current trends, by 2025, one in every three Australian adults will be obese

In Victoria (in 2005) it was estimated that 54.2 per cent of males and 41.9 per cent of females (47.9 per cent of adults) over the age of 18 years were overweight or obese

It is estimated (Norton et al 2006) that about 25 per cent of Australian children (age 5 to 15 years) are overweight or obese, and that within thirty years, prevalence in children will rise to similar levels to the current prevalence (60 per cent) in adults.

According to the American Heart Association, some 17 million Americans are afflicted with diabetes, and that number grows rapidly as sedentary lifestyles and convenience-oriented eating habits prevail. Today pharmacy shelves are well stocked with insulin, insulin sensitizers, and glucose desensitizers, all of which play an important role in managing this widespread disease.

However, long-term use of these costly medications can cause a range of harmful conditions including insulin resistance, liver dysfunction, and edema. Even with the assistance of medication, most diabetics will eventually succumb to complications of the disease, such as blindness, nerve damage, and kidney failure.

But recent clinical studies and scientific reviews point to a safe, powerful, natural product that can help patients control blood glucose levels-a key to long-term management of diabetes. Bios Life® is clinically proven to help improve glycemic control, decrease hyperinsulinemia, and lower plasma lipid concentration in patients with Type 2 Diabetes.1 This approach can serve as an effective adjunct and an eventual replacement for prescription medication.

Bios Life® is a natural formulation that protects the body from the damage that can be caused by glucose and insulin spikes by delaying gastric emptying and lowering postprandial blood sugar.2 Simply put, when patients take Bios Life® shortly before a meal, it creates a gel fiber matrix in the stomach. As the gel moves through the intestinal tract, food gets trapped inside it for short periods of time.

This lowers the rate at which food is absorbed, thereby extending the time over which blood-sugar levels rise and fall. With this more gradual process, the average blood-sugar level remains lower throughout the day, stabilizing both blood glucose and insulin at a healthy and acceptable plateau.

Bios Life® is easy to use and safe for long-term usage. It''s simple to incorporate into a daily routine, which can lead to higher compliance. Each serving contains a patented, scientifically-formulated matrix of fibers, vitamins, and anti-oxidants which the body needs daily.

Results from Fiber Supplementation Study
Summary

This independent group studied diabetic patients for three months and gave them Bios Life® twice daily before meals.

• Average reduction in postprandial 3 blood glucose of 17.2 percent • Average reduction of fasting blood glucose of 17 percent • Average reduction of total cholesterol of 17 percent • Average reduction of HbA1c of 15.2% in the 1st three months of usage. (HbA1c is an indicator of average blood sugar levels.) • Average drop in blood pressure of 5 percent • Average drop in body weight of 4 percent (8 pounds) • Average drop in triglycerides of 42 percent • Average increase in HDL cholesterol of 6 percent

When the vascular endpoints are averaged, the study shows an overall reduction in macro vascular endpoints of 18 percent. And it shows an overall reduction of micro vascular endpoints of 17 percent.

Success Stories from People Like You

For eleven years, I have struggled with diabetes. I have had seven eye surgeries, have lost my left eye, and have diminished vision in my right eye due to diabetic retinopathy. In July of last year, I was taking 220 units of insulin a day. I had gained 50 pounds and still had blood sugar levels running from 190 to 390. My doctor took me off insulin and started me on maximum doses of Glucophage and Amaryl. After several months, he told me these drugs were not working. I was scared.

Meanwhile my business partner told me about a nonprescription, natural product that was helping other people control their blood sugar levels. At this point, what did I have to lose? I took a packet of BiosLife2 and a list of ingredients to my endocrinologist. He said, "There is nothing in this that can hurt you." On January 9th I started taking Rx for Life (containing Bios Life® 2) while on Amaryl and Glucophage with no insulin. In less than one week, my blood sugar was 153, in two weeks under 100 and have had blood sugar readings of less than 80. I reduced the Glucophage by 2/3 and Amaryl to 1/2 of the original dose So far, I have lost 32 pounds.

My last examination by my eye surgeon showed no new leakage and no new bleeding in my eyes. I am saving the vision I have left. I needed a miracle and I thank God for guiding me to this.

When I started taking BiosLife2 on the recommendation of my physician in February, my weight was 225 and my fasting blood sugar readings were 220 to 240, and that was while taking 58 units of insulin in the morning and 48 in the evening. As of April my weight is 202 (a 23 pound loss) and my fasting blood sugar readings are now 76 to 95. I only take 20 units of Insulin in the morning and 15 in the evening to maintain those readings. Best of all, I don''t have to starve myself to do this. Unicity saved my life.

In July I became ill and was admitted to our local hospital. It was discovered that I was a severe diabetic. At that time my blood sugar level was 314 before my evening meal and 569 directly after. My cholesterol was 259 and my triglycerides were 429. I was given an impossible diet and released from the hospital ten days later. My medication included Proventil by inhaler for my asthmatic condition, Seldane for allergies and the insulin which I gave myself by injection two or three times daily.

Then a miracle happened to me. My nephew introduced me to the RX for Life Program (BiosLife). Within two weeks I was able to reduce my insulin intake by half and kept reducing it for the following three months until my doctor said, "Congratulations, your blood sugar level is normal!" But that''s not all. My cholesterol fell to 186 (73 point drop) and my triglycerides fell to 183 (246 point drop). I no longer use the Proventil or the Seldane and instead I take Defend-Ol and Calmplex2000 daily and Reliev-Ol as needed. I have lost over 50 pounds. Thank God for Rexall.
